Treasure Trove Found

55-year-old British Metal Detector Enthusiast Discovers an

Anglo-Saxon Warlord’s Stash

Perhaps this fellow’s discovery is a harbinger of things to come for common men who’ve been fleeced by the big banks for several decades, intimating better times ahead for us all.  It’s like a symbol of all the elements of history coming together – the hoard is dated at around the 8th or 9th century, the era of the rule of kings and their gold-encrusted goblets, of feudalism and serfdom, debt slavery much like the debt slavery we have being foisted upon us now.  It has all the elements of a good historical novel.  Some warlord, in his greed,  had to stash away one of the biggest bags of loot in history, and probably died never having been able to enjoy the spoils at all.  I hope that’s what’s in store for our modern day feudal lords who are the beneficiaries of all that looting that went on in the Dark Ages.  That’s their karma for having done away with fundamental rights the common man had to give his blood for, such as the writ of  Habeas corpus. But as they strip away our human and civil rights one by one, the minutes tick by as well, making a mockery of the heists they pull off, and making the tricks they use to hide the truth of their subversion of the rule of law and true free market principles fully transparent.  There are many, like the hundreds of thousands who marched on Washington just ten days ago, or the Gold Anti-Trust Action Committee, or the UN General Assembly, who see through the facade of the mainstream propaganda, and know that it doesn’t matter anymore how much they debase the US currency, monetize their debt which continues to finance violence and destruction, or how multifaceted a tapestry of lies they erect around them, for the gold which they have forsaken long ago will eventually surface again sometime, perhaps in a field in Staffordshire, perhaps as a backing for a new ‘basket of currencies’, or as the Gold Anti-Trust Action Committee infers, as empty inventories in the big central bank gold vaults – gone – used in swaps to suppress the price of gold.

Many of the world’s elite still live in castles, real or imagined.  They’re still fascinated with the warlord’s power and gilded shields.  But, theirs is a home of darkness, a lonely promontory of greed and guilt.  They can take all the riches they like from the world, because as all material things must, the loot will one day be buried as deeply as the evil men who stole it.  As one of my favorite historical novelists, Henry Treece,  penned in 1959,

“They call it a castle, the men who created it,”

His cold eye a-glittering, said eagle to lark.

“Be still and you’ll hear all the gold trumpets speaking-

But not the deep groans of the men in the dark.”

Solar

I’ve been wanting to put together a collection of web resources that I’ve found over the years about DIY solar for some time now. As soon as I have the time and a house to work with, I’ll be installing some kind of solar array. The first video below is brief but informative. The guy is using a “Fresnel furnace”, which can generate intense heat, enough to power a steam-powered generator (if I understand him right). It focuses the suns rays on a heat exchanger, where pre-heated water goes through what looks like a coil, and is then
“flashed” into steam. The steam powers your generator, and the hot water can be reused or put back into the system again. He’s using standard PV solar panels to pre-heat the water, and the whole system can be done for about 6000 US. Not bad, but would require a good share of time, equipment and research to put together by a greenhorn like me. The Fresnel furnace uses a huge lens (he used a 60″ recycled bigscreen TV). I’ve seen these on sale online as well. I’ve got an old-school TV right now, not sure if I want to save the screen though. I don’t think those should be too hard to find. Great idea.

Here’s a list of suppliers of solar equip. Could be useful one day!

Opinion from an oldtime gold bug…

Interesting times doth approach, as time runs short for the old-school, has-been, Reaganite neoliberals who’ve been abusing the earth for the last handful of decades.

I just read this article which mentions the latest moves of the world’s leading producer, Barrick, then found this old coot’s interesting perspective on youtube. This was back in January. Now, the Chinese are encouraging their citizens to invest in precious metals.
